CITec GmbH CITec Concrete Improvement Technologies GmbH

Company

CITec GmbH has been founded in 1999. Our focus is the reduction of cost and effort in the maintenance of reinforced concrete structures (e.g. bridges, parking decks).
Thus, we offer services in non-destructive detection and rehabilitation of corrosion damage of reinforced concrete structures. We focus on using mainly electrochemical methods - in combination with classical approaches for optimised maintenance concepts and sustainable success.

Within a research and development project (supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economics), we have defined the electrochemical Chloride Extraction from reinforced concrete in a new way and have been creating new tools for the early and precise detection of reinforcement corrosion problems. From this technology, that is being used commercially since 2001 with permanent success, a new method for the electrochemical, highly efficient desalination of sandstone and masonry has been developed. It is usable under heritage protection aspects and has been applied on the Dresden Zwinger under supervision of the Saxon State Office for Heritage Protection.

We offer innovative and reliable solutions in the areas:
  • Reinforced Concrete & Corrosion on Reinforced Concrete
  • Concrete Repair, Reconstruction & Improvement
  • Chloride Extraction (patented technique)
  • Electrochemistry
  • Bridge Survey
  • Software Development

Organization

Our team consists of highly qualified personnel, including:
  • civil engineers
  • electrochemists
  • information technologists and software specialists
  • engineers for electronic measurement
